X-C Bucs take runner-up honors at Preston Knight Night Relays

KINGWOOD – The Buckhannon-Upshur A foursome of Jack Waggy, Brycen Allen, Leonard Reis and Jordan Gillum took runner-up honors in the Preston Knight Night Relays at Preston County High School Saturday night.

The foursome ran a combined time of 32:38.67 for second place.

The meet is set up where teams of four run in a relay style meet under the moonlight and other light sources set up for the run.

Waggy ran the first leg for a time of 7:39.51, which was the fourth best split time for all runners.

Brycen Allen clocked a 9:03.90 while Leonard Reis owned an 8:04.24 and Jordan Gillum posted a time of 7:51.03.

The Buccaneer B Team placed 11th overall with a time of 36:28.13.

Joey Notle ran a time of 8:49.97, Owen Cutright posted a time of 8:42.42, Jeremy Allman ran a time of 9:34.51 and Alex Sappey ran a time of 9:21.22.

The Bucs C Team placed 24th with Weldon Zirkle running 9:56.18, Brandon Landis running 10:09.93, Ryan Tenney running 11:05.09 and Ryan Dowell running 11:39.77.

University won the 26-team full-team event with a combined time of 30:11.70.

University’s Drew Zundell had the fastest split time with a clocking of 7:20.41.

The Bucs will be back in action for a home meet Saturday at 9 a.m.
