WVWC tennis programs donate tennis balls to local animal shelter

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — In the spirt of the holiday season, the West Virginia Wesleyan tennis program recently donated hundreds of tennis balls to the Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility, a local humane society.

When someone adopts an animal from LUAC this winter, there is a good chance that they will receive a couple of tennis balls to get started courtesy of the WVWC tennis program.

“This is a long-standing project I’ve had our teams involved with for years,” head coach Kyle Hoffman said. “We want to encourage those that are able to adopt or donate to their local shelters to get involved. I would like our student athletes to understand the value of giving back and being involved in the local community and it’s a great way to get a few extra tennis balls for those looking to add a new furry friend to their family. I’m excited to bring opportunities like this to WVWC and to the surrounding Buckhannon community moving forward.”
