WVU student-run record label Mon Hills Music Group celebrates 10 years with showcase

Mon Hills Music Group, West Virginia University’s student-run record label, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a live showcase at The Encore in Morgantown on Thursday, December 5.

The event, dubbed “The Encore,” will feature live performances by Emily Lehr, The 2 Sides and Jennifer Cooper — all artists signed by Mon Hills Music Group.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show runs from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $5 for students who purchase before the show date.

The showcase celebrates 10 years of study, creativity, collaboration and artistry at the student-run organization, which was established in 2014.

Mon Hills Music Group provides WVU students with hands-on experience in the music industry, including performance, production, marketing and management. The organization includes multiple branches: Mon Hills Records, Go 1st Records, Mon Hills Music Publishing and Climb Records.

The Encore is located at 720 Powell Ave. in Morgantown.
