Lawrence Eugene Woodson

Lawrence Eugene Woodson “Woody” “Dad” “Grandpa”, age 78, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born November 30, 1947, a son of the late Robert and Ruhama Rhorbough Woodson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Small and two brothers, Robert and Floyd Woodson.

He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Hamner and husband Eddy of Buckhannon; four sons, Kevin “Paris” Woodson and wife Niki of Canonsburg, PA, Robert Woodson and wife Alisha of Chapmanville, WV and Bryce and Brock Woodson both of French Creek, WV; two grandsons, Tyler Loudin and Blake Woodson both of Buckhannon; six granddaughters, Victoria and Anna Hamner both of Buckhannon, Annaleigh Woodson of Chapmanville and Kenzie, Kylee and Kennedy Paris all of Canonsburg; four sisters, Adelene Allen, Noreene Heater, Jerene Sprouse and Marlene Andregg and four brothers, Wayne, Gordon, Philip and Dwaine Woodson.

In his younger years of being an outdoorsman, Woody enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and playing Indian Ball with family and friends. As luck would have it, he always found a four leafed clover. He was witty, determined and truly took pride in all that he would do. Especially when welding and operating heavy equipment.

Many will remember him from his former position of employment with Columbia Gas Transmission and the WVDOH in Upshur County. Woody will be missed by his family and friends. His love for us will always remain in our hearts.

In honoring his wishes, Mr. Woodson will be cremated.
