West Virginia Wesleyan College will host its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. in Wesley Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The festival celebrates the holiday season through musical performances and readings. Dean of the Chapel Rev. Jonathan Acord said the event “invites the Wesleyan community to experience the story of Christ’s revelation” through “reflection and song.”
The Concert Chorale and Concentus Vocum, directed by Dr. Dan Hughes, will perform traditional and contemporary carols. Accompaniment includes pianist and organist John Morrison and a brass quintet featuring Adam Loudin ’07, Andy Scott, T.J. Metzger, Logan Lindsey and President James Moore.
Following the service, attendees will gather outside for a Christmas tree lighting with President Moore. The event will be live streamed at wvwc.edu/livestream.
Elior Collegiate Dining will offer a holiday meal from 5 to 7 p.m. in French See Dining Hall featuring smoked brisket and Peruvian chicken. The meal costs $13 for community members and $5 for children 8 and under.
