West Virginia Wesleyan Alumna Receives National Alpha Delta Pi Sorority Award

West Virginia Wesleyan College alumna, Judie Hain Reemsnyder ’70, recently received the Joan Perry Boatwright Loyalty Award at Alpha Delta Pi’s Sorority’s Grand Convention. It is the highest award an alumna member can receive.

Recipients are selected for their active participation and service as an alumna member in an alumnae association, supporting a collegiate chapter, as an International Officer, or in special projects.

In addition, recognition is based on leadership as an officer on the local, state, district or international level, financial support through the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation, Inc. and assistance to a collegiate chapter and participation in community or professional organizations.

Reemsnyder was honored for her longtime service to the women of chapters in Virginia and West Virginia and her eligibility stemmed from her membership experience in Alpha Delta Pi and Gamma Kappa Chapter on Wesleyan’s campus.

She has served as an advisor to Eta Pi at Virginia Tech since their colonization and has advocated for Greek Life on Advisory Councils, special committees, Parent Advisory Boards. Reemsnyder has been recognized for her service with multiple Advisor of the year and Legacy Awards as well as the Van Akin Loyalty Award in 1996. She has been a model of community leadership through her church, in the school system, with the Blacksburg Chorale, and in using her nursing degree as a medical volunteer at Blacksburg High School.

Along with her sister, Phyllis Hain Northrup, Judie established a scholarship through the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation to serve the sisters of Alpha Delta Pi at Virginia Tech and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Reemsnyder received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wesleyan. She is married to David Reemsnyder ’69 and is a member of one of Wesleyan’s great families in the school’s 129-year history.
