Wesleyan head soccer coach Gavin Donaldson passes away

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Longtime West Virginia Wesleyan men’s soccer coach Gavin Donaldson passed away earlier today (Thursday, March 10). Coach Donaldson immediately impacted WVWC soccer and the institution as a whole by leading the Bobcats to a 1994 NAIA national championship title, among countless other accolades.

The entire Wesleyan community mourns the loss of a tremendous mentor and friend.

“It’s a very sad day for our entire athletic department,” said Director of Athletics Randy Tenney. “Particularly for those that had the pleasure of knowing coach Donaldson by watching his illustrious career unfold at Wesleyan.”
