Wesleyan women’s soccer drops fourth straight in 1-0 home loss to UC

BUCKHANNON — West Virginia Wesleyan women’s soccer dropped its fourth straight Mountain East Conference matchup with a 1-0 loss to the University of Charleston Sunday in Buckhannon.

The lone score came from the Golden Eagles’ Cassidy Collins (unassisted) in the 49th minute. Cassidy’s shot was one of three she had in the game and one of Charleston’s 17-shot total.

Wesleyan had three shots, all in the first half; two were taken by Maggie Queen and one was taken by Ava Badallo.

The Bobcat women are currently fifth in the MEC South Division with 11 points. Glenville holds fourth with 14 points. Only the top four go into the conference tournament. Wesleyan has three MEC games remaining on the schedule.

The season’s home finale will be Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Culpepper Stadium against West Virginia State University (28 MEC points). Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
