Wesleyan ranked best school in the state for getting a job in national survey

BUCKHANNON – The career builder site Zippia looked at the U.S. Department of Education’s “College Scorecard” from 2017–2018 to check employment rate data for all higher education institutions and identified the schools with the highest placement rate in each state.

According to the release, “One of the biggest things that incoming college freshmen consider when they’re thinking about what school to attend is the likelihood that a school will improve their job prospects.”

The study noted, “As the unemployment rate continues to shrink to figures not seen for nearly half a century, it’s becoming more and more important for college graduates to prepare for a competitive workforce. This means picking the right major, having great internship and work experiences, but most of all, choosing the right college to attend in the first place.”

West Virginia Wesleyan is among the best institutions in the nation in preparing students for their post-undergraduate careers. Benefiting from outstanding academics in a rich liberal arts traditional, Wesleyan graduates are finding immediate success after graduation. Statistics compiled for the 2018 graduating class indicate that 95 percent are enrolled in graduate or professional school or have been placed in a job.
