Wesleyan misses out on MEC post season lacrosse tournament as seeds and pairings announced

West Virginia Wesleyan College did not qualify for the 2025 Mountain East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Tournament as seeds and pairings were announced Thursday, with play set to begin Sunday.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced Thursday night the seeds and matchups for the 2025 MEC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, which will begin this Sunday on campus sites.

Davis & Elkins (7-11, 2-6) will travel to Wheeling (6-7, 4-4) for the MEC Play-In Game, which pits the fifth-seeded Senators and the fourth-seeded Cardinals. That game is set for 1 p.m.

Next Thursday, the winner of the Play-In Game will head to regular season champion Frostburg State, which finished the regular season 11-6 overall and a perfect 8-0 in MEC play. That game is set for 6 p.m. The other semifinal is set with Dominican University of California, which will travel from San Rafael, California for the MEC Tournament, playing at the University of Charleston on Thursday at 3 p.m. Dominican is 10-1 this season, while UC is 12-5 overall and 6-2 in MEC play.

The MEC Championship will be played at the highest remaining seed on Sunday, May 4. The final will be played at 1 p.m.

Sunday, May 4 (Championship)
Semifinal Winners at Highest Surviving Seed – 1 p.m.
