Warren Lee “Sarge” Sargent

Warren Lee “Sarge” Sargent, age 93, of French Creek, West Virginia, died Friday, April 22, 2022, at his home.

Warren was born February 5, 1929, in Nettie, West Virginia, a son of Ford Jackson and Bertha Lester Sargent.  He is survived by his spouse Betty Jane Sargent of French Creek, WV; two sons: Wayne Sargent and Stephen Hall; six daughters: Carol Sargent Dill (Charlie), Stephanie Hall, Dawn Sargent (Eric Ryan), Judy Scherf, Susan Rhoades, and Kathy Poston; four grandsons and two granddaughters; and several great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four children:  Linda Sargent, Sandy Scythes, Bobby Sargent, and Robby Sargent; one grandson, Lee Sargent; and four siblings:  Alfred Sargent, Walter Sargent, Gosha Sargent Wagner, and Nancy Sargent Bassett.

Warren was a truck driver and was a member of the Knights of Pythias.  He enjoyed playing harmonica and bluegrass music. Warren attended Point Pleasant Chapel at Abbott.

The body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10-11:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastors Wilma Jackson and Will Kerns officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mountaineer Food Bank, 484 Enterprise Dr., Gassaway, WV 26624.
