Volleyball Lady Bucs roll past Elkins, 3-0

ELKINS – Behind the strong play of Meghan Bailey, the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc volleyball team cruised past the Elkins Tigers Thursday night in a Big 10 Conference road battle.

The Lady Bucs won in straight sets – 25-12, 25-19 and 25-10.

Almost a quarter of the Buckhannon-Upshur points came from the serve as the Lady Bucs tallied 20 aces.

Bailey served up 13 aces in the win while Shelby McDaniels and Tori Perkins each had two while Kendal Currence, Caroline Frye and Cadence Ringer each had one.

Bailey also led the team in assists with 28.

McDaniels was a force at the net with a team-high eight kills while Cadence Ringer had seven and Currence six.

Caroline Frye led the team with 12 digs while Tori Perkins collected eight.

Currence had all four blocks for the Lady Bucs in the win. The victory lifted the Lady Bucs to 6-5 on the year.

They will return to action Wednesday at East Fairmont in a tri-outing along with Grafton.
