Volleyball Lady Bucs go 2-0 at Lewis County tri-outing

WESTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur volleyball Lady Bucs picked up two more wins on Wednesday in a tri-outing with Lincoln and Lewis County at Lewis County High School.

The Lady Bucs had little trouble putting away Lincoln (25-19 and 25-11) and beat Lewis County (25-19 and 25-21).

The pair of wins left head coach Ashley Stanton’s team with a 15-11 record.

The Lady Bucs managed 15 of their 50 points against Lincoln with the serve with 15 aces.

Kendal Currence provided all sorts of trouble for Lincoln with eight aces while Meghan Bailey owned five and Shelby McDaniels and Cadence Ringer one each.

Currence paced the team in kills with six while Bailey had a team-high 13 assists and Caroline Frye had a team-best 10 digs.

Currence and Ringer each had a block in the win for the Lady Bucs.

Against Lewis County, the Lady Bucs recorded 10 aces with McDaniels leading the way with four.

Team leaders were Currence in kills with seven, Bailey in assists with 14, McDaniels in digs with six and Currence in blocks with one.

The Lady Bucs were slated to host their own Spooktacular Invitational this past Saturday.

They will host University on Tuesday and wrap up their regular season Thursday hosting East Fairmont.
