ELKINS, W.Va. – Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center has recognized Ridgley Williams, RN, of the Family Birth Center, with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in recognition of the compassionate, exceptional care she provides to patients and their families.
Williams was nominated by both a physician and a patient for her outstanding support during a patient’s labor and delivery experience. According to the physician’s nomination, Williams remained at the patient’s bedside for hours, helping reposition her throughout labor and preparing her for delivery with unwavering dedication and compassion.
“She deserves a gold star,” the physician wrote. “She always shows compassion toward her patients and helps them have the best experience possible during one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.”
The patient echoed that praise, describing Williams as an extraordinary nurse whose presence made a lasting difference.
“Ridgley made all the difference in my labor experience,” the patient wrote. “She made a long induction feel so much shorter. She was absolutely amazing, and I feel extremely lucky to have had her as my nurse during my delivery. My labor and delivery experience was only improved by having her be a part of it, and I am so grateful. The help she offered during labor went above and beyond my expectations.”
