The Upshur Parish House will host the 2nd Annual Rev. Barry Moll Memorial Golf Scramble on Monday, June 8 at Riverbend Golf Course in Buckhannon.

Proceeds from the event benefit local food assistance and emergency utility programs through the Parish House.

The scramble honors the life and legacy of Rev. Barry Moll, a longtime community advocate who spent decades supporting neighbors facing hardship throughout Upshur County. Moll served in ministry throughout West Virginia, as chaplain at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was well known locally for his commitment to service, compassion and community outreach.

This year’s event will feature both a morning 9-hole scramble and an afternoon 18-hole scramble, along with raffle prizes, giveaways, lunch provided by JAWS BBQ! and community fellowship throughout the day.

Businesses and organizations from across West Virginia have contributed support for the event through sponsorships, prize donations and participation.

Presenting sponsors for the 2026 scramble include The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia, WVU Medicine – St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Wilkerson family.

“We were overwhelmed by the support the community showed for the inaugural scramble last year,” said Isaac Casto, executive director of the Upshur Parish House. “This event has become a meaningful way to honor Barry’s legacy while also supporting neighbors in Upshur County who are experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship.”

The Upshur Parish House serves hundreds of households each month through programs including a food pantry, emergency utility assistance, school break food distributions, holiday meal programs and other crisis support services.

Registration remains open for both scramble formats. The 9-hole scramble will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the 18-hole scramble at 1 p.m.

Additional information and registration details can be found at givebutter.com/mollgolfscramble or by contacting the Upshur Parish House at office@parishhouse.org or 304-472-0743.
