BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management issued the following statement Saturday, July 22, 2023, regarding the single case of chickenpox:

“We would like to provide the community with an update regarding the single case of Chickenpox (from the Varicella Virus) discovered earlier this week.

The individual has been recovering well and, as of this morning has been released from isolation.

THERE HAVE BEEN NO ADDITIONAL CASES OTHER THAN THIS SINGLE CASE.
