The Fred W. Eberle Technical Center Administrative Council will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. The session will take place at the center, 208 Morton Avenue in Buckhannon.
Buckhannon’s city calendar includes curbside recycling Feb. 3 and board meetings plus a City Council meeting Feb. 5. Residents are also urged to follow winter weather safety tips and snow/ice removal rules.
Adults 18+ can join the free “Do Tell!” storytelling workshop March 21 at Fairmont State’s West Virginia Folklife Center, learning to craft and perform stories with the West Virginia Storytelling Guild. Runs 9 a.m.–4 p.m.; pre-register by Feb. 21.

Lucille Virginia Brooks, 99, of the Lick Run community in Buckhannon, died February 1, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Virginia Pearl Allen, 73, of Sutton, WV, passed away January 30, 2026, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. A homemaker who loved bluegrass, crocheting, whittling, and her grandkids, she is survived by her son, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and siblings.
