Buckhannon officials are seeking help to keep the Stockert Youth and Community Center basketball program running in 2026 following director Debora Brockleman’s retirement. They hope to have a plan put together by October 1.

WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital and Buckhannon Upshur Rotary will offer $35 blood screenings by appointment Oct. 10-31 in Buckhannon and Nov. 7 in Rock Cave. Optional tests are available, and participants must fast for 12 hours.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will waive day-use fees at its recreation areas nationwide on Sept. 26 for National Public Lands Day. Volunteers can join restoration projects at participating sites and may receive a fee-free coupon.
