GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Glenville State College senior Camryn Tyree of Point Pleasant, West Virginia invites the public to attend the opening reception for her senior art show on Friday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. The show will be on display in the College’s Fine Arts Center Spears Gallery.
Tyree’s art show will include various mediums of work such as colored pencil, watercolor, photography, and soft pastel. “I’ve enjoyed working with all kinds of mediums throughout my college career, so I wanted to incorporate as many as possible,” said Tyree.
“There isn’t an overall theme, but I do have one specific series that holds its own theme in showcasing the beautiful and vibrant scenery of West Virginia. I chose this because while being at Glenville State College, I’ve used the majority of my free time to hike and enjoy the outdoors. I would always and still go on big hiking trips, finding the most beautiful places. I wanted to recreate these areas as well as incorporate other elements of nature through soft pastels in hopes of recreating the feelings that these locations inspire,” she explained.
“I would like to thank my parents, Charlie and Mindy, for helping me get to go to college and for encouraging me to major in something I’m passionate about. I would also like to thank my sister, Sophie, for being my photography model even when she really doesn’t want to be. I would lastly like to thank my boyfriend, Jacob, since he always supports and believes in me,” Tyree added.
The Fine Arts Center Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and one hour before all GSC musical performances in the Fine Arts Center.
