Track and field Lady Bucs finish fourth at Doddridge County

WEST UNION – Chloe Cale and Cameron Zuliani won individual events for the Buckhannon-Upshur track and field Lady Bucs Friday night at the Doddridge County Invitational.

Cale won the long jump with a leap of 16-02.75 and Zuliani took first in the discus throw with a heave of 102-07.

The two wins helped the Lady Bucs to a fourth-place finish in the eighth-team event with 75.5 points.

North Marion won the team title with 105.5 points while Doddridge County was second with 94 and Philip Barbour was third with 93.

Zuliani also earned runner-up honors in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.65.

The Lady Bucs collected two second places in relay events as Miah Reger, Catherine Oliveto, Zuliani, and Cale in the 4×200-meter relay (1:55.24) and the quartet of Reger, Jessica Williams, Ashley Catlin and Samantha Shreve in the 4x-800-meter relay (11:03.08).

Shreve finished third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:48.21 and Cale claimed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a clocking of 18.66.

One relay squad took a third as Allison Andrew, Zuliani, Dezi Pugh and Cale owned a time of 1:17.48 in the 4×102.5-meter shuttle hurdle relay.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Tuesday in a home meet starting at 4:15 p.m.
