Tire Amnesty Day scheduled for June 6 has been canceled

BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Solid Waste Authority & West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection REAP Tire Amnesty Day scheduled for this Saturday, June 6, 2020, at the Buckhannon Transfer Station has been canceled.

According to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Rehabilitative Environmental Action Plan (REAP) webpage:
“Due to the COVID-19 situation and the Governor’s travel ban for non-essential work, REAP will no longer be performing open dump cleanups, tire collection events, AAH and MIS cleanup events, and any other field duties until the ban has been lifted.“

If a new date is set, it will be shared on our website, social media, and with the local press.
