Timothy “Pork” Shaffer

Timothy “Pork” Shaffer, age 60, of Volga, WV, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at River Oaks Health Care Center in Nutter Fort, WV.

He was born March 18, 1964, in Upshur County, WV, a son of Ava Shaver Shaffer of Volga and the late Edward “Bub” Shaffer. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Harold “Hike” Shaffer and brother-in-law, Robert Coleman.

Pork is survived by two brothers, Richard “Muddobber” Shaffer and Dale “Gus” Shaffer both of Volga; two sister, Diana Coleman of Volga and Donna Champ of Belington, WV and three nieces, Missy Linger of Coraopolis, PA, Ashley Hoffman of Donegal, PA and Savannah Durnal of Joplin, MO.

Pork was a truck driver for many years, driving for Harry J Benson & Sons Trucking, Hardman Trucking, Ed Linger Trucking, HWM Trucklines and Rocky Road Paving. Pork never met a stranger and once you have met him, you never forget him. He enjoyed hunting, talking about all of the places he had trucked, and he loved his animals.

Friends will be received Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 12 PM (noon) to 2 PM, the funeral hour, at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with Bill Mick officiating. In honoring Pork’s wishes, he will be cremated following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
