Thomas Henry “Buck” Bevans, Sr.

Thomas Henry “Buck” Bevans, Sr., 79, of Buckhannon, W.Va., while surrounded by family went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

He was born August 8, 1942, in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late Thomas David and Edna Marie Bevans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elda Marie Shipley Bevans; two sons, Brian Bevans, Sr. and Kenneth Bevans, Sr.; one brother, Earnest “Butch” Bevans and one sister, Georgian Bevans.

He is survived by one daughter, Shelly Claypoole and husband Denver of French Creek, W.Va.; four sons, Terry Shipley and wife Kimilee of Buckhannon, Thomas Bevans, Jr. and wife Tammy of Buckhannon, Brian Keith Bevans, Jr. and wife Becca of Weston, W.Va. and Mike Robinson and wife Marsha of Weston; one brother, Dennis “Denny” Bevans and wife Darlene of Pa.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Tina Bevans of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; special friends Richard Small and the entire Small family and his beloved dogs, Butch, Buttons and Pebbles.

Mr. Bevans was a Truck Driver and worked for Smalls Paving. He was a Baptist by faith. Buck loved his family, animals and listening to music.

Friends will be received Friday, September 17, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes and Pastor Jeff Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery in Hampton, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
