BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, wrestling mat or swimming pool.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Feb. 24 – March 2 are Xavier Robinette and Alyssa Abel.
Robinette is a sophomore on the Buccaneer basketball team. In a 2-1 week for the Bucs, he reached double digits in two of the three games, scoring 11 points twice in road wins over Lincoln and East Fairmont. He also averaged four rebounds per contest last week.
Abel is a senior on the Lady Buc basketball team. In two games last week, Abel collected a double-double in both games, averaging 27 points per game. In B-U’s regular-season finale, a 45-42 road win over Elkins, she scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and in their regional tournament battle with John Marshall, she tallied 27 points and collected 13 rebounds.
