This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Reis Leonard and Alayna Whitehair

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a female and male athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur that has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, the swimming pool or the wrestling mat.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Jan. 16 – Jan. 22 are Reis Leonard and Alayna Whitehair.

Leonard is a senior on the Buccaneer swim team. At a home quad with Elkins, Fairmont Senior and Doddridge County, he won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.37 and was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that was victorious with a time of 1:48.19 and the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay team with a time of 1:35.07. He took second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.78.

Whitehair is a senior on the Lady Buc swim team. At the same meet, she picked up two wins in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.93 and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.48. She was also part of the first-place 200-yard medley relay team that won with a time of 2:02.68 and the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay squad with a time of 1:51.81.
