This week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars: Ian Cornett and Nicole Blandino

BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another season of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week, we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the basketball court, wrestling mat or swimming pool.

Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the weeks of Feb. 10 – Feb. 16 are Ian Cornett and Nicole Blandino.

Cornett is a senior on the Buccaneer wrestling team. This past weekend, he won his second straight Big 10 Conference championship, going a perfect 3-0 in the 120-pound weight class. All three wins were by pinfall. Cornett is 32-8 on the season.

Blandino is a sophomore on the Buccaneer wrestling team. At the conference tournament, she finished fourth in the 106-pound weight class, recording a pair of pinfalls. She is an impressive 18-8 on the year.

Congratulations to Cornett and Blandino as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
