BUCKHANNON – My Buckhannon is proud to present another edition of the Hank Ellis All-Stars. Each week we will select a male and female athlete at Buckhannon-Upshur who has had an exemplary week on the football field, soccer field, volleyball court, golf course or the cross-country course.
Our Hank Ellis All-Stars for the week of Oct. 16 – Oct. 22 are Chase Hackett and Sidney Hollen.
Hackett is a junior defensive back on the Buccaneer football team. Against Grafton, Hackett picked off two passes, and on the second interception, he ran it back for a 38-yard touchdown return. He ran back the first interception for a touchdown as well, but the score was negated by a penalty. Hackett also added one pass breakup and three tackles in B-U’s 41-6 win.
Hollen is a sophomore midfielder on the Lady Buc soccer team. Hollen had B-U’s first goal in the 12th minute in a 3-1 victory over Bridgeport for the sectional championship. In their sectional opening win over Preston, Hollen added an assist in a 10-0 rout.
Congratulations to Hackett and Hollen as our weekly winners of the Hank Ellis All-Stars honor.
