The first tee of West Virginia, Stonewall State Park Foundation to host “Beyond the Fairways” golf tournament May 10

WESTON WV (May 2018) — Golfers interested in having fun while helping kids learn the game of golf are encouraged to participate in the “Beyond The Fairways” golf tournament on Friday, May 10th at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course at Stonewall Resort.

The event is being sponsored by the Stonewall State Park Foundation in conjunction with the West Virginia Golf Association and will help raise funds for The First Tee of West Virginia program, an initiative designed to promote youth development in the sport of golf.

The tournament is set up in a shotgun format with teams of four players. The event starts with a shotgun start at 11:30am.

The entry fee is $150 per person and guest can register by clicking here. Lunch and golf fees are included, and an awards ceremony will take place immediately following the tournament.

Participants can reserve rooms in the Stonewall Resort lodge at a special tournament rate of $119 on Thursday night or $129 Friday through Sunday.

The First Tee of West Virginia is a statewide chapter with seven program locations where youth meet on a weekly basis with coaches. Participation can begin as early as five years old, however the program is open to youth of any age. The chapter keeps fees very low while delivering high-quality programs and a child in financial need is never turned away.

The mission and primary purpose of the Stonewall State Park Foundation is to create a sustainable legacy for current and future generations in the areas of outdoor recreation, education and preservation. The Stonewall State Park Foundation is a 501 (c)3 charitable organization.
