Tenney, Baisden earn Second Team All-State honors for Buckhannon-Upshur

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Dawson Tenney and Kadyn Baisden have been named to the 2025 WVSWA Class AAAA All-State Football Team. Tenney earned Second Team Offense (utility) honors, while Baisden was selected to the Second Team Defense as a lineman after leading the Bucs in tackles.

TENNERTON – Two Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers were named to the 2025 West Virginia Sports Writers Association (WVSWA) Class AAAA All-State Football Team.

Senior quarterback Dawson Tenney was named to the Second Team Offense as a utility player, while junior Kadyn Baisden was named to the Second Team Defense as a lineman.

Tenney completed 86 of 181 passes for 1,256 yards and 12 touchdowns, while running for 954 yards on 175 carries and scoring 10 times. He also caught three passes for 63 yards, finishing with 2,273 yards of total offense and 23 total touchdowns.

Baisden led the team with 110 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss/sacks. He also forced one fumble and had one fumble recovery.

The Bucs advanced to the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs.

Wheeling Park’s Brennan Wack was named captain of the First Team Offense, while Spring Mills’ Xavier Anderson was named captain of the First Team Defense.
