Stonewall Resort’s “Winter Wanderlust” series features three special January weekend events

WESTON, W.Va. – Stonewall Resort will kick off its 2019 Winter Wanderlust event series in January with three unique and fun-filled weekend experiences created to provide the perfect escape from the winter doldrums. The events include: Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre (Jan. 12), Ballroom Dancing (Jan. 18-19), and, Beer, Bourbon & BBQ: A Taste of the Bayou (Jan. 25).

“Whether you’re a foodie who enjoys craft beverages, a dance enthusiast, a patron of the comedic arts, or you’re looking for an out-of-the-norm experience, our January Winter Wanderlust events offer something for everyone,” said Andre’ D’ Amour, general manager at Stonewall Resort.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre – January 12

Stonewall Resort’s culinary team and West Virginia’s own Vintage Theatre Company will host a three-course, ‘80s themed Murder Mystery Dinner in the resort ballroom.  The evening menu includes a salad of baby spinach, candied walnuts, local goat cheese, toasted sunflower seeds, strawberries, bacon and orange-vanilla vinaigrette; an entrée of braised beef short ribs with whipped potatoes, bourbon honey roasted parsnips and baby carrots; and a warm spiced white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

Packages start at just $229 per couple and include overnight lakeside accommodations in the resort’s recently-renovated Adirondack-style lodge plus a spectacular three-course dinner theatre event with two drink tickets per person.

Ballroom Dancing Weekend – Jan. 18-19

Perfect for beginner to experienced dancers and everyone in between, the Ballroom Dancing Weekend event features a day full of sessions with expert instruction focusing on Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango. Guests can choose between beginner or intermediate skill level sessions during the event to ensure a fun-filled experience for all. The event will culminate with a ballroom dance on Saturday evening.

This delightful two-night package starts at just $299 per couple and includes overnight lodge accommodations for the nights of Jan. 18-19, multiple beginner and intermediate instructional sessions and a ballroom dance on Saturday night.

Beer, Bourbon & BBQ: A Taste of the Bayou – January 25

The resort’s award-winning culinary team will showcase a fantastic variety of Cajun and Creole cuisine combined with an expertly curated selection of bourbon and craft beer samples. This year, Big Timber, Parkersburg Brewing, Greenbrier Valley, Mountain State and Elysian breweries will participate.  Country/rock band Hollerwood will provide live entertainment during the event.
