Stevie “Steve” Ray Landis

Stevie “Steve” Ray Landis, 57, of Buckhannon, was called home to Christ on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from the comfort of his own home and surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Buckhannon on April 29, 1963, a son of Patricia Noreen Sipe Landis and the late Sterling Steve Landis. In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Landis.

Forever cherishing their memories of Steve are his mother, Patricia Landis of Buckhannon; two children: Vincent Lee Landis and companion, Rebecca Demastes, of Buckhannon, and Valerie Ann Carroll and husband, Tyler, of Valdosta, GA; one brother, Russell Landis and wife, April, of French Creek; and two sisters: Starlene Teets and Jennifer Hamner both of Buckhannon.

Steve was born and raised in Buckhannon and worked in the sawmills before becoming a tree trimmer. He spent over 20 years in the industry before leaving the most recent company, Pennline due to health reasons. Steve was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In his younger years, Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing at Ten Mile, and camping at Bean’s Mill or Pritt Mountain. He was always a social butterfly and had many close friends. More than anything, Steve treasured his family. He loved spending time cooking for his children and earned the nickname “Betty Crocker”. Steve was extremely caring and compassionate and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required for all indoor events. Family and friends will gather at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Following services Steve’s request for cremation will be honored.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Stevie “Steve” Ray Landis. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com.
