Soccer ‘Cats fall on the road at No. 23 Notre Dame, 4-0

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — The West Virginia Wesleyan (6-6-3, 4-6-3) men’s soccer team dropped a result versus #23 Notre Dame (Ohio) (12-3-1, 10-3-1) on Wednesday (Oct. 19) afternoon at Mueller Field in Ohio.

In the first half, the Bobcats came out with intensity registering a few shots early on in the game. Emre Sinasi Deniz found himself behind the defense with the ball on his feet in which when he took his shot, he just missed hitting the side post and going out wide. No team could muster a score in the first half.

In the second half, the Falcons came out with more intensity and were able to get on the scoreboard in the 61st minute when Connor O’Reilly found himself on the edge of the box and was able to beat the Bobcat goalkeeper. Two minutes later, Taylor Dyson struck a ball from around the same area to give the Falcons a two-goal lead. Notre Dame (Ohio) kept the offensive attack rolling when Carlos Almeida added another goal to the scoreboard. The Falcons sealed it off with a fourth goal from Ned Dry. The game ended in a 4-0 victory for the Falcons.

The WVWC Bobcats are on the road on Sunday (Oct. 23) for a match versus West Liberty.
