Sip and shop at Fish Hawk Acres Nov. 29 — and stock up on one-of-a-kind products you won’t find anywhere else

Here's a peek at some of the new specialty Mediterranean olive oils Fish Hawk Acres has imported from Spain and Italy. Chef Dale Hawkins says customers likely can't find these unique products in big-box stores.

BUCKHANNON – Fish Hawk Acres is getting into the holiday spirit by making seasonal dinners so families don’t have to. They’re also offering one-of-a-kind products in their market customers aren’t likely to find anywhere else in north-central West Virginia.

Fish Hawk Acres posted their holiday menu on their website, where customers may choose between three options of bread, six different entrees, eight sides, three easy breakfast options and five dessert options.

Although it’s too late to order Thanksgiving meals, takeout Christmas family dinner orders may be placed now and are due at least three days in advance – or by Dec. 19 at the latest.

Fish Hawk Acres is also offering a holiday sip-and-shop event on Sunday, Nov. 29 where customers can sample some of their new products. Chef Dale Hawkins said people may make reservations for five different one-hour time slots from noon until 5 p.m.

“We’re only taking 10 reservations (for each hour) because of COVID-19 guidelines, and obviously we want people to wear their masks,” Hawkins said. “When they’re tasting, they can take it off, but we want them to put it right back on. We’re trying to provide a safe environment, and that’s the whole premise behind it.”

Fish Hawk Acres continues to add unique products to the market.

“We have gotten a of new stuff in, and we want to give people the chance to try those products,” Hawkings added.

Hawkins said the market has acquired several artisan items that can’t be purchased in big grocery stores.

“There’s an apothecary section with really cool soaps, scrubs and essential oils,” Hawkins said. “We just found a new line of vinegars from Italy, Spain and France, and we have really cool olive oils from those Mediterranean countries now. We also have two lines of gluten-free products. Then, we’ve got a line of Italian pastas – it’s basically stuff that you’re not going to find at a big box store.”

Their new deli area features fresh meat, produce, cheeses, lettuces and different hummuses. They also have a selection of wine and beer with sales on Wine Wednesdays that offer 25 percent off wine. Meanwhile, customers can take 20 percent off beer on Thirsty Thursdays. Every other day of the week? Customers can save 20 percent when they purchase six or more bottles of wine.

Fish Hawk Acres is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Fish Hawk Acres has a full selection of wine and beer — perfect for holiday gifts for friends and family.
