The Saturday session includes a working lunch. Both sessions will be held at Artistry on Main on Main Street in Buckhannon.

Gov. Patrick Morrisey signed a proclamation recognizing June 19, 2026, as Juneteenth Day in West Virginia, honoring the end of slavery and urging reflection on freedom. He noted West Virginia abolished slavery on Feb. 3, 1865, before the 13th Amendment.

French Creek man accused of letting 10-year-old control motorcycle, then fleeing crash scene, leaving child seriously injured

A man was arrested after he allegedly allowed a 10-year-old to operate the throttle on a motorcycle, leading to a crash that seriously injured the child. Authorities said the man then fled, leaving the injured child at the side of the road.

Buckhannon’s fireworks ordinance: Here’s when city residents can legally paint the skies

Buckhannon’s fireworks rules are narrower than many residents think: because July 4 falls on a Saturday this year, fireworks are only permitted inside city limits from 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Independence Day itself. The rule helps protect pets, veterans and others sensitive to noise.
