Save with the WVDNR’s “Gift the Outdoors” holiday promotion

Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) recently announced the return of the “Gift the Outdoors” promotion, featuring holiday gift ideas for hunters, anglers and nature enthusiasts.

“Whether it’s a WVDNR gift certificate or a lifetime license, giving someone the chance to explore West Virginia’s mountains and waters is a gift that lasts forever,” Justice said. “I encourage everyone to share these special opportunities with loved ones this holiday season and help them make memories in Almost Heaven.”

This year, the WVDNR has simplified the process for purchasing digital gift certificates with an express checkout option that doesn’t require users to create an account in the WVDNR’s Electronic Licensing System. To buy a gift certificate this way, visit WVhunt.com and select “Products Eligible for Express Checkout.”

“Giving the gift of the outdoors connects people to the beauty and traditions of West Virginia,” WVDNR Director Brett McMillion said. “We are excited to offer these gifts and hope they inspire hunters, anglers and nature enthusiasts to try new outdoor adventures and create lasting memories with their loved ones in the new year.”

The gift guide, developed in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Tourism and West Virginia State Parks, includes hunting, fishing and outdoor-related gift ideas:

  • WVDNR Gift Certificates: Can be used to purchase licenses, stamps and other hunting and fishing privileges.
  • West Virginia Lifetime Licenses: A timeless gift for children and grandchildren, providing a lifetime of hunting and fishing adventures.
  • Wonderful West Virginia Magazine Subscriptions: This flagship publication of the WVDNR features immersive storytelling and breathtaking photos that celebrate the natural beauty of West Virginia.
