Randy Sanders was sworn in for another term as Buckhannon city recorder at the July 2 City Council meeting, with Mayor Robbie Skinner administering the oath of office.
Sanders, first appointed to the post in 2019, ran unopposed in the May election.
“Public service has become one of the greatest joys of my life,” Sanders said. “Since first being appointed in 2019, I’ve had an opportunity to serve the council, our boards, our commissions, to help strengthen transparency and communication, and to work alongside people who deeply care about this community.”
Sanders thanked the mayor, council members and his supporters, and pledged to keep serving residents “with clarity, fairness and respect.”
“I’m grateful for the trust placed in me, and I remain committed to being steady, responsive and an accessible partner in local government,” he said. “I’m proud to serve.”
