Robert Zane Shipman, 78, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1940 in Upshur County, W.Va., a son of the late John and Thelma Slaughter Shipman.
On June 30, 1962 he married Lounett “Faye” Johnston who survives.
Also, surviving is one daughter, Felicia Dean of Buckhannon; one son, Robert Shipman, Jr. of Buckhannon; one brother, Johnnie Shipman and wife Myrtle of Buckhannon; two sisters, Evelyn Beckner of Buckhannon and Marlene Baldwin of OH and beloved dogs, Savana, Hunter and Brittney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Shipman and one sister, Shirley Sunderland.
Mr. Shipman attended the South Buckhannon Mission Church. He loved to walk, garden and listen to and play music. Mr. Shipman was a guitar player and an avid hunter and bowler.
Friends will be received Monday, December 10, 2018 from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Reger Chapel Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
