Paul “Waldo” Eric Hamner

Paul “Waldo” Eric Hamner, 61, of Rock Cave passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born in Buckhannon on March 17, 1959, a son of Waneta Mae Gregory Hamner and the late French Lloyd Hamner.

In addition to his father, Paul was preceded in death by four brothers: French Jr., Frank, Phillip, and Michael John Hamner; and one sister, Minnie Mae Hamner.

Paul is survived by his mother, Waneta Hamner of Rock Cave; seven siblings: Melva Teter and husband, Harold, of Walkersville, Richard Hamner, Julia Hamner, Allan “Sputter” Hamner and companion, Sherri Friend, Stanley Hamner and wife, Jamie, Stephen Hamner, and Lisa Perrine and husband, Richard, all of Gaines; several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; and his K-9 companion, Blackie.

Paul graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was Methodist by faith. Paul was extremely close with his nieces and nephews and cared for them as his own children. As a jack-of-all-trades Paul had collections of anything you may need. He worked construction with his father and handled all the repairs for his parent’s home. Paul loved spending time outdoors whether he was riding four-wheelers or tinkering with his old tractors. He was always a positive and happy person that would give to anyone in need. Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Paul’s request for cremation has been honored and a Private Service will be held at a later date.

We, at Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Paul “Waldo” Eric Hamner. Online condolences may be expressed at www.Tomblyn-ClutterFuneral.com.
