Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon to offer free nonprofit workshops in October on grant writing, accounting

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Pallottine Foundation of Buckhannon will offer two free workshops in October for nonprofit organizations in Barbour, Lewis, Randolph, Upshur and Webster counties.

The first, “Introduction to Grant Writing,” will take place Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Event Center at Brushy Fork in Buckhannon. Alice Ruhnke, President of GrantStation, will give expert advice on how to write effective grant applications. Participants will receive a free, two-year membership to GrantStation.com, which includes grantmaker profiles, searchable databases of grantmakers, grantseeking tools and tutorials. The Foundation will offer the workshop “Understanding Nonprofit Accounting” Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Event Center at Brushy Fork in Buckhannon. Representatives from Suttle & Stalnaker Certified Public Accountants will provide an expert overview and discussion of good accounting practices for nonprofit organizations, understanding financial statements, and the benefits of using QuickBooks.
