West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon has selected a new hire to lead its marketing and communications work.
Andrew Stacy has 17 years of experience in the field.
“He brings strong strategic communications experience and a demonstrated ability to reach new audiences. He will help us tell Wesleyan’s story to prospective students, current students, alumni and others in dynamic and compelling ways,” Wesleyan President James Moore said in the college’s release announcing the hire.
As director of marketing and communications, Stacy will oversee the college’s brand strategy, media relations, digital communications and social media. Enrollment, advancement, athletics and student affairs are among the campus areas he will support, according to the release.
“I’m excited to work with President Moore, campus leadership, and faculty and staff to tell that story in new ways that connect with prospective students, families, alumni, and the people and communities we serve,” Stacy said in the release.
Stacy comes to Wesleyan from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he was community relations coordinator. His communications and marketing career also includes work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the City of Morgantown, the WVU Water Research Institute and the West Virginia Conservation Agency.
His credentials include a West Virginia University master’s degree in integrated marketing communications and Accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Chosin, based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
