Marjorie Anne Luther

Marjorie (Marge) Anne Luther, 90, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died peacefully at her home, Thursday, August 13, 2020.

She was born August 17, 1929, in Patchogue, N.Y., daughter of George and Muriel Latham.

On September 15, 1948 she married McKinley (Mac) Luther who survives.

In addition to Mac, she is survived by daughter, Linda L. Cronin and husband Terry; granddaughter, Callie Cronin Sams and husband Nathan; grandson, Timothy M. Cronin and fiancée JiaJia Jin; great granddaughter, Willow Jane Cronin Sams; and step great grandson, Isaac Smith Sams. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Claire Latham and; several nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, George Latham, Jr., Richard Latham and his wife Nancy, and infant great granddaughter Ula Estelle Sams.

As a member of the First Presbyterian Church, she served on the session and supported the missions of Presbyterian Women. She was a P.E.O. sister with a strong connection to their values and goals.

Marge enjoyed traveling with Mac on business trips and vacations, as well as extended retirement travel. Together they visited virtually all the United States, Mexico, Canada and Western Europe.

She loved birding along the Gulf Coast, in W.Va. State Parks and in her own backyard. She was an avid reader, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family; Grammie was the best great-grandmother ever.

Honoring her wishes, Marge will be cremated and no service will be held. Family extends a special thank you to the caring staff in the Critical Care Unit of WVU St. Joseph’s Hospital and WV Hospice.
