Local boutiques to be featured at Spring Fashion Show in downtown Buckhannon on April 15

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Special guest Miss West Virginia USA, Krystian Leonard, will walk the runway wearing fashions from Caroline & Co Boutique at the Spring Fashion Show on April 15 at the Opera House in Buckhannon. She will join other models who will be wearing fashions from Mountain Chic Boutique and The Outpost during the upcoming Spring Fashion Show sponsored by the PEO Chapter A.

Leonard grew up in Clarksburg and, at the age of 15, founded a nonprofit organization, Shining S.C.A.R.S. Inc. She shares her personal experience with visible scars to help others feel proud of their imperfections.

Leonard represented West Virginia in this year’s Miss USA Pageant, where she placed as a semifinalist.

Randy Sanders will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the Spring Fashion Show.  Sanders is currently the City Recorder for Buckhannon and was recently selected Business Man of the Year by the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce.  Randy owns his own production and marketing company, Pageant Associates, and has long been recognized for his work with local and state pageants, as well as the Miss Universe Organization.

Kathy St. Clair, PEO Chairperson, and her committee want to showcase shopping in Buckhannon.

“We are so lucky to have such wonderful boutiques and shops in Buckhannon,” St. Clair said. “We want to showcase these businesses and promote scholarships, grants and loans for women’s education. We have such a beautiful downtown. We want everyone to know all the talented and artistic people who are invested in our town.”

Sharon McNemar, PEO committee member, is so proud of all the artistic and innovative businesses and co-ops in Buckhannon.

“Moon Flower, a hemp business run by three generations of Appalachian women, is opening soon next to the Colonial Art Center,” McNemar said. “Brightside Creative Collective gives access to a space to host events. The Coop is hosting classes and travel. We have excellent restaurants and coffee shops to help shoppers relax and restore.  You can shop for wine, books, clothes, art, flowers, collectibles, CBD products and much more.  A short trip to the Outpost and other nearby shops is a must.”

Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. on April 15, and the Spring Fashion Show starts at 11 a.m. Plan to be there early to visit the merchant’s displays in the Opera House foyer.  They will be offering discounts to shoppers. Light refreshments will be served. The Opera House is located at 12 East Main Street in Buckhannon.

There will be door prizes, including $25 gift certificates from the three boutiques and a silent auction with items donated by local merchants. After the show, enjoy lunch at one of Buckhannon’s great restaurants and shop at the local boutiques and stores.

Tickets cost $25 and are available at the participating boutiques (Caroline & Co, Mountain Chic and the Outpost) and from PEO Sisters. Check out the Facebook Event, Spring Fashion Day and Facebook group, Spring Fashion Day. Join PEO Chapter A for a step into spring with style and class.
