Leona Pearl (Riffle) Reed, 87, of Norvell Drive, Buckhannon, died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at her home under the care of her loving family and WVU Hospice.

She was born on March 15, 1933, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late John Wesley and Beulah Mae Edgel Riffle.  On March 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Reed, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter Linda F. Reed and spouse Pat Nilo, one son Kevin Reed and spouse Barbara Reed, four granddaughters, eleven great grandchildren, and former daughter-in-law Cindy Nicholson Reed Sanders.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son Richard E. Reed, five brothers, and three sisters.

Mrs. Reed worked for many years as a medical assistant to Dr. Harold Almond, MD and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church where she cherished her church family.  Playing cards and bingo were favorite activities of hers, especially at the Upshur County Senior Center.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly and will be sorely missed.
