Lee Roy Gregory

Lee Roy Gregory, 75, of Buckhannon, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by loving family.

He was born October 24, 1948, in Canaan, WV, a son of the late Roy Edward and Vernie Gay Friend Gregory. Lee spent 44 years with the love of his life Louise N. Murphy Gregory until her passing on February 9, 2014. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward, Dennis, Hubert and Ronald Gregory; one sister, Wilda Bowman; and one son-in-law, Chester Houston.

Forever cherishing their memories of Lee Roy’s ornery nature are two sons: Shawn K. Gregory and Marcus L. Gregory; one daughter, Ranae M. Houston; seven grandchildren: Chester L. Houston and wife, Michelle, William J. Houston and wife, Tiffany, Roy Mitchell Houston, Katlin Houston and significant other, Gavin, Shawn K. Gregory II, Kaila M. Sprouse and husband, Robbie, and Kiera N. Gregory; four adopted grandchildren: Reva Kelley, Traci Kelley, Brenda Hovey and Isabella Gregory; thirteen great grandchildren; and one sister Waneta Hamner.

Lee Roy served in the United States Army and later worked in maintenance for Griffin Real Estate. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed hunting, riding side-by-side, and fishing.

Lee Roy’s request for Cremation has been honored at Clutter Funeral & Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Clutter Funeral & Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, with Pastor Mike Tallman officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Upshur County Honor Guard.
