PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (18-9-1, 8-2 MEC) softball team swept the Alderson Broaddus Battlers (11-17, 2-8 MEC) on Saturday.

Game One

The Lady Bobcats jumped out to an early lead due to defensive mishaps from the Battlers. Alli Robinson doubled to lead off the inning and later advanced to third on a wild pitch. Taylor Swartz cashed her in with a RBI groundout to second base. With two outs in the inning, Kiley Turner and Lauren Niglio reached base by way of an error. WVWC took a 3-0 lead after AB made their third error of the inning on a Grace Hightower ground ball to the shortstop allowing Turner and Niglio to score.

The Battlers got a run back in the bottom half of the third to make it 3-1.
