Lacrosse Bucs tumble to Morgantown but knock off St. Albans

MORGANTOWN – The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneer lacrosse team had a rough outing at Morgantown in a 20-2 setback on Wednesday to the Mohigans.

They rebounded though with an impressive 14-8 home win over St. Albans on Saturday.

The Bucs have won three of their last four games and own a 3-5 record overall

Against Morgantown, the Bucs went down by a 6-1 score after one quarter and trailed by a 15-1 count at the half.

The Bucs were outscored in the second half by a 5-1 margin.

Luke Bohnsack had both goals for the Bucs and led the team in ground balls with 15 against Morgantown.

John Hayes made seven saves in net for the Bucs.

In their win against St. Albans, Bohnsack and Clay Ware each had four goals while Aidan Wilson collected three and Lakoda Lantz, Tucker Hatfield and Kaleb Roby each had one.

Bohnsack had a team-high 28 ground balls.

Hayes recorded 16 saves in the victory.

The Bucs will be back in action next Saturday in a road tripleheader playing Cabell Midland at noon, Mountain State at 3 p.m. and Capital at 6 p.m.
