Kenneth Leroy Crawford

Kenneth Leroy Crawford, age 91, of Rock Cave, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 9, 1933, in Arlington, a son of the late Loy Adkinson and Opal Maxine Helmick Crawford.

On April 2, 1955, he was united in marriage to Glennia Evelyn Crawford, who preceded him in death on April 26, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by daughter Vickie Gregory; granddaughter Jessica; three brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by one daughter Janet Robinson and husband Dave of Kanawha Head; six grandchildren: Kenneth Miller and Tonya, David Claypool and wife Wanda, Amanda Anderson, Celena Bennett, and Justin Tilley; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one brother Johnny Crawford of Elyria, OH; one sister Kay Rumlon of Marion, Oh; and significant other Donna Osburn.

Kenneth served as a Sergeant in the Korean War from 1951-1954. He worked for over 20 years in the steel mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio before moving to West Virginia where he owned and operated several businesses including a body shop and flea market. Kenneth was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4 PM – 8 PM at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1 PM at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery where the Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
