JV Lady Bucs fall behind early and tumble to Elkins, 56-22

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs are running out of time to pick up their first win of the season after dropping a 56-22 decision to the visiting Elkins Tigers Thursday evening.

The Lady Bucs, now 0-14 on the season, have just two games remaining, a road outing with Parkersburg South and a home clash with Morgantown,

The Lady Bucs went down by a 20-4 after one quarter getting all four points from Kylie Hull on a field goal and two free throws.

B-U came back to win the second quarter by an 11-6 margin with Makenzie Egress scoring six points, Hull four and Taylor Feather one.

That left the Lady Bucs down by a 26-15 score at the half.

Buckhannon-Upshur went scoreless in the third quarter and trailed by a 46-15 score heading into the final quarter.

B-U lost the fourth quarter by a 10-7 margin with Egress scoring six of the seven points and Hull dropping in a free throw for the other point.

Egress led Buckhannon-Upshur with 12 points while Hull collected nine.

Jaylen Tacy and Jasmine Workman each had 12 points to pace Elkins.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Saturday at Parkersburg South for a 5:45 p.m. start.
