The Upshur County Commission is accepting applications for a temporary, full-time Pool/Park Director at the Buckhannon-Upshur Recreational Park.
The position is seasonal and offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking summer employment. The director will oversee park and pool facilities, including a hot/cold concession stand. Duties include employee scheduling, revenue and expense tracking, maintaining records of operations and chemical inventory, managing and administering pool chemicals, supply orders, food inventory and ordering, and oversight of cleanliness and sanitation of facilities.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to deal with the public, knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygiene, knowledge of purchasing and budgeting procedures, and the ability to supervise and motivate others.
A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license, food handlers’ card, and CPR/First Aid certifications are required. These licenses may be obtained following a successful interview.
Employment will begin in early May and continue through mid-August, based on the availability of the selected applicant. Successful applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
