Jimmie Lorentz

Jimmie Lorentz, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, May 29, 2023, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born December 15, 1940, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Cecil Foreman and Freda Garnett Brown Lorentz.

On October 14, 1968, he married Karen Lyons who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Norman Lindsey and wife Dina of Grafton, WV and Patrick Lindsey and wife Amy of Clarksburg, WV; three daughters, Deanna Perrine of Clarksburg, Joy Stanton and husband Timothy of Buckhannon and Joyce Bender and husband Dwayne of Webster, WV; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one half-sister, Mary Kriner of Buckhannon and his beloved dogs, Tiny, Lilly and Otis.

Mr. Lorentz was a coal miner for Upshur Coals for 21 years and was a farmer his whole life. His favorite TV shows included Jeopardy, The Wheel of Fortune and the RFDTV Channel. Jimmie loved doing word searches and camping.

Friends will be received Friday, June 2, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the Faith Baptist Church in Buckhannon with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery in Lorentz, WV.
